This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Puducherry to dispose of the proceedings in STC.No.549 of 2022 pending on his file, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner/complainant submitted that the petitioner has filed a private complaint against the respondent/accused for the offence punishable under section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act and the same was taken on file in STC.No.549 of 2022, which is now pending before the learned Judicial Magistrrate II, Puducherry. He woud further submit that after taking cognizance, the case is still pending without progress. Hence, he seeks a direction to the Judicial Magistrate to dispose of STC.No.549 of 2022 within a time frame fixed by this Court.

3. Considered the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

4. The case was taken on file in STC.No.549 of 2022 and it was posted for appearance of the accused on 28.4.2022. After appearance of the accused, he was questioned and thereafter, the case was posted for trial and now it is pending without any progress. In view of the above, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Puducherry is directed to dispose of the proceedings in STC.No.549 of 2022 pending on his file, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
