ORDER

This writ petition is filed for direction directing the respondents to rectify the mistake and to mention the petitioner's correct name Nimalan David instead of the wrong name Nirmala David, in the Town Survey Land Register (Computerised patta).

2. The petitioner owns the land and building at new No.19, Old No.9, Circular Road, United India Colony, Kodambakkam, Chennai comprised in TS.No.8/1, Puliyur Village, Block No.40, Egmore Taluk. In the Extract from the Permanent Land Register dated 28.05.1976, the petitioner's name was correctly mentioned https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

as Nimalan David. Unfortunately in the computerised patta, his name was wrongly mentioned as Nirmala David. Therefore, the petitioner submitted applications and complaints on various dates to the first respondent to rectify the above said mistake and to change his name as Nimalan David instead of Nirmala David in the computerised patta. On receipt of the same, the first respondent also directed the second respondent to take appropriate action to correct the name of the petitioner in the computerised patta by the communication dated 16.08.2019. However, even till today, the second respondent did not take any steps to alter the name of the petitioner in the computerised patta.

3. Considering the above, the second respondent is directed to verify the records and, after giving opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, pass orders to correct the petitioner's name in the computerised patta as directed by the first respondent dated 16.08.2019 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
