ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to disburse the petitioner's contribution for the provident fund together with interest to the tune of Rs.85,567/- as per Section 78 of the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Societies Act to the petitioner.

2. Heard Mr.C.Prakasam, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Ravikumar, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner who is said to have been employed with the second respondent Co-operative Society as an Assistant Secretary, has been terminated on 31.01.2005 on certain allegations. The petitioner claims that he has made contribution towards Provident Fund even after his termination and that has not been settled. The petitioner has given a representation to that effect on 27.07.2024 and the same has not been considered so far.

4. The learned Standing Counsel who takes notice for the respondents, submitted that the representation has been given by the petitioner just recently and it is under consideration.

5. In view of the above submission, this Writ Petition is disposed by directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2024 and pass orders on merits within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
