Petition filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking to direct the respondent police to conduct investigation and to trace out the offending unknown vehicle and to initiate suitable action against the offender driver as stated in the complaint in Crime No.120 of 2025 dated 25.03.2025 on the file of the respondent police within the stipulated period as may be fixed by this Court. The Petition is for a direction to conduct investigation and trace out the offending unknown vehicle in Crime No.120 of 2025. 1/4

2. Upon hearing the learned counsel for the petitioner and perusing the first information report it can be seen it is a hit and run case and the vehicle is yet to be traced out.

3. The learned Government advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that as the accident happened during the night hours the vehicle is yet to be traced. The learned counsel for the petitioner points out that there are several CCTV cameras also available in the relevant route.

4. Therefore, the respondent police shall take up the investigation and try to examine the footages that are available on the route and try to trace out the vehicle as expeditiously possible. In any event, let the investigation be completed within a period of four (4) months from today

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. 05.08.2025 rap NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No 2/4
