The petitioner herein seeks issuance of a writ of mandamus forbearing the official respondents from granting any permission for erection of Karupaiah statue in Arulmigu Ayyanar Temple, Veppanatham Village, Varagur Post, Thalaivasal Taluk, Salem District.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he is a Hereditary Trustee of the above said temple and without his permission, the respondents 7 to 10 are making attempt to install Karupaiah idol in the above said temple. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation to respondents 2 to 5 and the same has not been considered in accordance with law. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mrs. S.Anitha, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents 2, 4 and 5. Mr.K.Karthikeyan, learned Government Advocate(HR & CE) takes notice for the respondents 1 and 3. Mr.J.Subbiah, learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) takes notice for the 6th respondent.

The learned Government Advocate (HR & CE) appearing for the 1st and 3rd respondents, on written instructions, submits that as per the instruction given by the Inspector of HR & CE Department, Attur, the respondents 7 to 10 dropped the idea of installing new idol in the above said temple. He further submitted that as on today, there is no proposal to install new idol in the above said temple. The said statement of the learned Government Advocate (HR 3/5

&CE) is recorded.

5. In view of the statement made by the learned Government Advocate(HR &CE), this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
