O R D E R
(Order of the Court delivered by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM.J.,) With reference to the order of this Court dated 30.11.2023 in W.P.No.33437 of 2023, the 5th respondent has filed a compliance affidavit. Page No.2 of 5
The said compliance affidavit shows that survey was conducted, encroachments are identified and removed with the assistance of revenue authorities and police authorities. Paragraph Nos.8 and 9 of the compliance affidavit are of relevance and the same reads hereunder:
8. I humbly submit that since the encroachers had refused to receive the above said notice, the Village Administrative Officer, Koonandiyur Village pasted the same in the encroached premises on 18.10.2024.
9. I humbly submit that since the encroachers had not removed the encroachments made by them, I along with four Zonal Deputy Block Development Officers, five Panchayat Assistants, Revenue Officials including Tahsildar of Mettur, who was assisted by Headquarters Deputy Tahsildar, Mettur, Two Firka Revenue Inspectors, Four Village Administrative Officers, Six Village Assistants with Surveyors, police personnel numbering 50 headed by Inspector of Police, Mecheri, who was assisted by 3 Sub Inspector of Police and 46 police constables along with Fire and Rescue Van and Ambulances, removed the encroachments described in the report of the Tahsildar, Mettur Taluk, Photographs removing the encroachment were also taken. The above said encroachment were removed by demolishing the tiled houses, cow sheds, goat sheds, huts, crops on 05.11.2024 and the pathway was reclaimed and the land was restored to its original state.
