O R D E R
This Criminal Original Petition is filed for directing the Special Court under TNPID Act Cases to dispose in C.C.No.07 of 2018.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that out of 149 witnesses, only 50 witnesses have been examined so far. Thus, this petition is filed for directing the Special Court under TNPID Act Cases to dispose the C.C.No.07 of 2018 within a specific period.
3. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) submitted that respondent will take appropriate action for production of more number of witnesses before the concerned Court.
4. Considering the nature of the offence that this case is registered under TNPID Act for the offence under Sections 405, 420 of IPC and 5 of TNPID Act, 2/4
1997 and there are 149 witnesses and 3 accused, this Court is of the view that any time frame set at this stage will be difficult to follow by the learned Judge. Therefore, this Court only directs the learned Judge to expedite the disposal of the case, as early as possible, by posting the cases on short intervals and summoning the witnesses, so that the trial may be concluded at the earliest possible time.
5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of, with the aforesaid direction.
