PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the first respondent to grant adequate police protection to the officials of Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board to survey and demarcate the petitioner land situated in Plot No.43, Door.No.135, Gandhi Street, Periyar Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai-41. This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for a direction to direct the first respondent to grant adequate police protection to the officials of Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board to survey and demarcate the petitioner land situated in Plot No.43, Door.No.135, Gandhi Street, Periyar Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai-41.

2. Heard Mr.R.Kuyilan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Mohammed Riyaz, learned Additional Public Prosecutor https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

for the first and second respondents.

3. It is evident that the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearnce Board by way of proceedings dated 18.07.2019 has decided to clear the sewerage seepages and construction of neat pathway near the petitioner's house. To undertake such work without any hindrance, the petitioner sought for police protection.

4. Having regard to the nature of the complaint and the facts, the second respondent is hereby directed to carry on the works and if they find any difficulty in pursuing such work, they can seek for police protection. On the request of the second respondent, the first respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry and after issuing notice to the counter party, proceed in accordance with law.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed.
