By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The present writ petition has been filed seeking a Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner as a Conductor in the respondent Transport Corporation based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2015. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would state that the petitioner has studied upto SSLC and took up appropriate training to become a Conductor. The petitioner is now holding Conductor licence and is eligible to work as a Conductor in a Public Transport Bus. He has also registered with the District Employment Office, Chennai and his registration number is CHD2612M00036281 dated 23.08.2012. Whileso, the respondent Corporation called for application from eligible candidates to the post of Conductor and since the petitioner had the requisite qualification, he made an https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

application to the said post. The respondent Corporation called the petitioner for an interview on 11.12.2014 vide call letter dated 29.11.2014. The interview took place at the Ayanavaram Depot of MTC, Ayanavaram, Chennai 600 023 and the petitioner participated in the interview with all necessary certificates including the fitness certificate. The petitioner was given to understand that the results will be published later, but the petitioner has not yet received any intimation about the results till now. In this regard, the petitioner made a representation dated 02.03.2015 to the respondents and since no response is forthcoming, came forward to file this writ petition. 4.

When the matter is taken up for consideration, the learned counsel who take notice for the respondents would submit that if sufficient time is granted, appropriate orders would be passed by the respondents in the petitioner's representation. 5.Considering the submissions made on either side and without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 02.03.2015, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner and it is for the respondents to decide the matter, purely on merits.
