ORDER

The petitioner's licence has not been renewed as he has not paid the property tax for the building in which he runs his business. It appears that the property was originally owned by his father-in-law and now, his wife.

The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the particulars of the assessment has not been provided for the building in question and out of property tax amount of Rs.3,07,841/- payable by the petitioner, a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- has been paid in pursuant to the order passed by this Court on 10.11.2016.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner has to pay the remaining amount, which is the property tax payable for the building.

In such view of the matter, a direction is issued to respondents 2 and 3 to furnish the particulars of the property tax payable by the owner of the building in which the petitioner is running his business within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. These particulars will have to be shown the amount payable with respect to the payment of the property tax raised on the building. On receipt of the same, the petitioner shall pay it and produce the payment receipt for the purpose of getting licence. As and when the petitioner complies with the same, the respondent concerned shall consider the application for licence to run the business within a period of four weeks from the date of production of the payment receipt. It is made clear that the respondent will have to make clear the assessment number assigned for the property in question.
