O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks direction under Section 482 Cr.P.C to the Inspector of Police, DCB, Villupuram District to register a criminal case based on his complaint dated 18.3.2016.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The petitioner is running a jewellery shop in the name and style of Lakshmi Jewellery in Thirukkovilur, Villupuram District.

Karunakaran, a goldsmith cum jewellery-maker approached him to entrust old gold jewellery and he will produce him new jewelleries and the petitioner has so entrusted 1 kg and 797 grams with the said Karunakaran.

4. It is alleged that Karunakaran has misappropriated the entrusted gold jewelleries and cheated him. In the circumstances, the petitioner lodged a complaint dated 18.03.2016 with the Superintendent of Police, Villupuram District and the same has been forwarded to the second respondent.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that although the complaint discloses commission of a cognizable offence, no effective action has been taken by the second respondent.

6. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the complaint as stated has been received and it is under active consideration of the second respondent under the caption, ' Current Paper' with 'C' number.

7. Considering the above aspects, perusing the allegations in the complaint and the averments in the petitioner, it is ordered as under:

"The second respondent shall register an FIR based on the complaint of the petitioner dated 18.03.2016, investigate in accordance with law and file a final report according to law before the concerned court."

6. With this direction the criminal original petition is disposed of.
