ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed to call for the records of the FIR comprised in Crime No.9 of 2016 dated 29.02.2016 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Tambaram and quash the same as against all the accused.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent and the learned counsel appearing for the 2nd respondent.

3. On the complaint lodged by the second respondent Anusha, the first respondent police registered a case in Crime No.9 of 2016 on 29.02.2016 under Sections 498-A & 294(b) IPC and 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act against Vijayaragavan and three others, challenging which, the accused are before this Court on the ground that the parties have arrived at a compromise.

4. Today, Anusha is present and she is represented by her counsel Ms.Sengkodi.

5. Parties have also filed a compromise memo signed by Vijayaragavan and Anusha, wherein, it is stated as under : "It is submitted that, the respondent also agreed to file this compromise memo before the Hon'ble High Court to quash the FIR which was registered on the basis of the respondent's complaint dated 14.12.2015 and appear before the Honble High Court and to inform her willingness to quash the FIR as against the petitioner and her in-laws in Crl.OP.No.8489 of 2016 on the file of the Hon'ble High Court."

6. Further the accused party have handed over to Anusha, a Demand Draft bearing No.464701 dated 07.11.2016 drawn on Indian Bank, Pallavaram Branch in her favour, in the open Court. In view of the above, this petition is allowed and FIR is quashed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
