Prayer:-Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, 1950, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing First to Third Respondents to consider the representation of the Petitioner dated 26.03.2017 and to initiate immediate Departmental action against Fourth and Fifth Respondents for their illegal activities including the illegal arrest and detention of the Petitioner narrated in the said representation.
For Petitioner : Mr.P.Pugalenthi For Respondents: Mr.P.Baladandhayudham Special Government Pleader (for R1, R2, R3 and R6) No appearance (for R4, R5 and R7)
O R D E R
Mr.P.Pugalenthi, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner states that the Petitioner had collected the case bundle from him earlier with consent for change of vakalat to engage another lawyer and he has made an endorsement to that effect in the court record. It has been informed by the Registry that no one else has entered appearance on behalf of the Petitioner in the matter till date. There does not appear to be any useful purpose being served in keeping the Writ Petition pending indefinitely when the Petitioner is not interested in prosecuting the same.
2. In the aforesaid circumstances, the Writ Petition is dismissed for non-prosecution. It is made clear that the Petitioner is not precluded from applying for revival of the Writ Petition, if necessary, in accordance with law. No costs.
