Writ Petition No.3966 of 2016 filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to treat the Charge Memorandum CD1/39358/2014 dated 12.1.2015 issued to the petitioner by the respondent as one under Rule 17(a) of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules.

ORDER

Mr.S.Kanmani Annamalai, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondent.

2. By consent, these Writ Petitions are taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. After some arguments, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner requested to permit him to withdraw the Writ Petitions with a request to this Court to issue a direction to the respondent to expedite the conclusion of the enquiry. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that if eight weeks' time is granted, the enquiry initiated against the petitioner would be concluded on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Recording the above statement, this Court directs the disciplinary authority concerned to conclude the enquiry pending against the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Writ Petitions are disposed of accordingly. No costs.
