Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing to the respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 23.9.2016 for issuance of Kurumans S.T. Community Certificate to him and his children namely Jaiganesh and Bagavathi Srilekha, based on office proceedings of the respondent in Na.Ka.A5/123/2008.

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH, J.) Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.R.Prathapkumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, who is directed to take notice on behalf of the respondent.

2. The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing to the respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 23.9.2016 for issuance of Kurumans S.T. Community Certificate to him and his children namely Jaiganesh and Bagavathi Srilekha, based on office proceedings of the respondent in Na.Ka.A5/123/2008. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

The case of the petitioner is that he belongs to Kurumans Community, which falls under the Scheduled Tribes based on the constitution Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Order 1950, as amended by the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Orders (Amendment) Act, 1976 and his community is listed as Serial No.18 of the Tamil Nadu Scheduled Tribes List and his blood relatives were already issued with such community certificates, but, when he applied for the same for himself and his children, vide his representation dated 23.9.2016, it was not considered by the respondent and hence, he is constrained to file the present writ petition.

4. It appears that the petitioner seeks issuance of community certificates for his children for their education purpose and he had already applied for such certificates several times during the period from 2010 to 2015.

5. Therefore, it is for the respondent to collect the details and other materials from the petitioner and after necessary verification in regard to issuance of community certificates and after affording personal hearing to the petitioner, to do the needful in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
