The petitioner has filed this writ petition questioning the post of Additional Director General of Police held by the sixth respondent.

2.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the petitioner appeared as Party - In - Person and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that during the pendancy of this writ petition, the sixth respondent has been promoted as Director General of Police and thereafter he retired from service and hence nothing survives for adjudication. 3.In view of the submission made by the petitioner/ Party - In - Person as well as the respondents, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
