ORDER
(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Dr.G.Krishnamurthy, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.AR.L.Sundaresan, learned Additional SolicitorGeneral, assisted by Mr.M.Sathyan, learned ACGSC.
2. The present writ petition is filed seeking directions against the respondents to take appropriate action for removal of encroachments made in the government lands owned by the second respondent in Tirumani, Alapakkam and Melamaniyur Villages of Chengalpattu District.
3. Learned Additional Solicitor-General submits that, on 23.2.2023, a communication has been made to the Central Government to form a High Power Committee to take steps for removal of the encroachments.
4. It is high time that respondents 1 and 2 shall take effective steps for removal of encroachments and the squatters on the lands owned by the second respondent immediately as may be permissible under law.
5. With these observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
