O R D E R

Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2016 with regard to promotion to the post of Clerk within the stipulated time.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he joined as Salesman in the 2nd respondent society. He has possessed B.Com., degree and subsequently passed Diplomo in Co-operation in the year 1993-1994. Therefore, the petitioner is fully qualified and eligible for promotion to the post of Clerk in the light of the circular dated 03.08.2012 issued by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies. The petitioner has made a representation dated 01.07.2016 to the 1st respondent requesting him to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post of clerk as per the said circular. However, the petitioner's representation was not considered by the respondents till date. Hence this writ petition.

4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time.

5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
