Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to absorb and appoint the petitioner based on the qualification of the petitioner either in Group 'C' or 'D' appropriate posts in the third respondent university/Pondicherry University in the existing and future vacancies in view of the lands acquired from the petitioner's family for the establishment of Pondicherry University and also on considering the Minutes of the Meeting dated 18.05.1989 and 12.12.2017.

O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to absorb and appoint the petitioner based on the qualification of the petitioner either in Group 'C' or 'D' appropriate posts in the third respondent university/Pondicherry University in the existing and future vacancies in view of the lands acquired from the petitioner's family for the establishment of Pondicherry University and also on considering the Minutes of the Meeting dated 18.05.1989 and 12.12.2017.

2. The case of the petitioner is that the lands of one Selvaganapathy was acquired for establishment of University. The petitioner is the wife of the said Selvaganapathy's grandson. On 14.09.2017, the petitioner's husband made application for absorption and appointment of the petitioner based on the qualification either in 'C' or 'D' Group post in the 3rd respondent University.

However, till date the said representation was not considered. Therefore, the Writ Petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice to issue direction to the respondent University to dispose of the representation dated 14.09.2017 in accordance with law.

4. The Standing counsel for the respondent University would submit that the representation will be considered as per the existing scheme.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, I am inclined to issue direction to the respondent University to dispose of the representation dated 14.09.2017, if not disposed already within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
