Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents permit the petitioner and the villagers of Avadhanapatti Village, Krishnagiri Taluk and District, to perform, conduct and celebrate the Annual Aadi Festival along with the ritual of carrying of Karagam at the Arul Mighu Mariamman Temple, Avathanapatti Village, Krishnagiri Taluk and District, on 16.08.2017, and also direct the respondents 3 and 4 to provide sufficient police protection for the smooth conduct of the above festival by the petitioner and the villagers.

The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 3 and 4 to provide sufficient police protection to perform, conduct and celebrate the Annual Aadi Festival along with the ritual of carrying of Karagam at the Arul Mighu Mariamman Temple, Avathanapatti Village, Krishnagiri Taluk and District, on 16.08.2017 2.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner sought police protection for the Aadi festival would be conducted on 16.08.2017 and the period lapsed. Therefore that the prayer sought for in this petition has become infrcutuous and nothing survive in this petition. 3.

Considering the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the prayer sought for in this petition has become infructuous. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
