Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to effect name transfer of property tax register/assessment in the name of the petitioner in respect of new Assessment No.179/020/900410 Old Assessment No.179/1390 in respect of the property of the petitioner in Patta No.760, Ottar Kudisai, Main Road, Ward No.20, Kundrathur Municipality.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's application dated 11.06.2024.

2. Mr.P.Balathandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit in the present case, the petitioner's father had purchased a property from one Poosanam and thereafter, he settled the said property in the name of the petitioner. However, the property tax documents pertaining to the said property stand in the name of original vendor Poosanam. Therefore, an application dated 11.06.2024 was filed by the petitioner before the respondent with regard to the name transfer of the said property, for which, the acknowledgment card was also provided by the respondent. However, the said application was not at all considered by the 2/5

respondent till date. Hence, this petition has been filed.

4. In reply, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would request this Court to pass appropriate orders to direct the respondent to consider and dispose of the application filed by the petitioner.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent and also perused the materials available on record.

6. In the present case, it appears that an application was filed by the petitioner on 11.06.2024 with regard to the name transfer of the subject property. However, the same was not at all considered by the respondent till date.

7. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 11.06.2024 and dispose of the same on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of 4 3/5

weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

8. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
