The petitioner who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 18.09.2022 for the offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) and 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act in Crime No. 468 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant is that the petitioner was found in possession of Black Pearl Brandy Bottles -15 Nos (containing 180 ml). Hence, the case.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the petitioner is an habitual offendor having 63 previous cases against him, out of which, 61 cases are similar in nature. Hence, he vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

3. However, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that, out of the 63 previous cases, 58 cases has already been disposed. Hence, he seeks for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. Considering the bad antecedents of the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
