The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offence punishable under Sections 147, 341, 353 & 506(i) of IPC, in Crime No.244 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 25.08.2023 at about 1.00 p.m., when the defacto complainant (Motor Vehicle Inspector) on official assignment conducted vehicle checking at Mannivakkam, he found a vehicle bearing Regn.No.TN-19-AY-4036 overload with blue metals and the defacto complainant raised check report and fined a sum of Rs.68,000/- and issued E-Challan. Thereafter, within 20 minutes, the petitioner along with other accused came to the spot and started to threaten the defacto complaint with dire consequences. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that the petitioner is the owner of the

vehicle and due to quarrel a false case has been foisted against the petitioner. He would also submit that the petitioner is ready to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) would submit that the defacto complainant is a Motor Vehicle Inspector and during vehicle check up, he found the vehicle over load with blue metals and hence, he imposed fine due to which, the petitioner along with other accused threatened the defacto complainant with dire consequences. Hence, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

6. Considering the nature and gravity of offence committed by the petitioner, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the criminal original petition is dismissed. 21.09.2023 ata RMT.TEEKAA RAMAN,J.
