ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking for a Page No.1 of 6
Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to correct the petitioner's wife name in the death certificate as BASANTA instead of VASANTHA based on the representation dated 16.07.2024.
2. Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the 1st respondent and Mr.T.Chezhiyan, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, he is an Army retired person and his wife namely Basanta was died on 17.01.1991. After death of his wife, he applied death certificate before the 2nd respondent office and the 2nd respondent issue death certificate by wrongly mentioning his wife name as Vasantha, however, his wife's original name is Basantha. Therefore, he made several representations before the respondents for correction of his wife name Basantha instead of Vasantha and the last representation is dated 16.07.2024. However, till date, the respondents Page No.2 of 6
did not take any action in correction of his wife name. Hence, the petitioner has filed this writ petition before this court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to correct the petitioner's wife name in the death certificate as Basantha instead of Vasantha based on the representation dated 16.07.2024, within a time frame that may be stipulated by this court.
5. Learned respective Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respective respondents have no objection for the said order being passed by this Court and they fairly submitted that, appropriate orders will be passed on the petitioner's representation dated 16.07.2024 within the time stipulated by this Court.
6. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this court, without expressing any opinion on the merits Page No.3 of 6
of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.07.2024 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and aggrieved persons, if any.
7. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
