O R D E R

This petition has been filed to direct the Judicial Magistrate No.II at Tindivanam, to expedite the trial.

2. The respondent police registered a case on 30.9.2011 as against the accused persons, namely, 1) Selvam, S/o Subramani, 2) S.Alamelu, W/o P.Subramani, 3)Subramani, S/o Periasamy and 4)S.Manjula W/o Selvam for the alleged offence under sections 498A, 494, 506(ii) IPC r/w Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act and on completion of investigation, the respondent has filed a final report in C.C.No.80 of 2012 before the Judicial Magistrate-II, Tindivanam. Learned Judicial Magistrate-II, Tindavanam, took cognizance of the offence and framed the charges. The chief examination of the entire prosecution witnesses was completed and the matter was posted for cross examination. After several adjournments on behalf of the accused for cross examination, now the matter is posted on 29.01.2016. Since the accused are dragging on the matter, the petitioner has come forward with the present petition to expedite the trial.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the learned Judicial Magistrate II, Tindivanam, to expedite the trial in C.C.No.80 of 2012 as early as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
