Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd and 4th respondents to take immediate steps to reclassify the land from Tharisu to Punja and register the same in computer and upload the details in respect of S.No.59/8 to an extent of 0.90 cents in Sarvai Village, Attur Taluk, Salem District in the name of the petitioners, within the stipulated time that my be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioners seek for Mandamus directing the 3rd and 4th respondents to take immediate steps to reclassify the land from Tharisu to Punja and register their name in the computer in respect of the land at Survey No.59/8 measuring at an extent of 0.90 cents in Sarvai Village, Attur Taluk, Salem District.

2. The grievance of the petitioners is that the subject matter land has been wrongly classified as Tharisu instead of Punja. Ventilating such grievance, the petitioners have made the said representation on 17.11.2016. Therefore, it is for the 3rd and 4th respondents to consider the request of the petitioners and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as this Court is not expressing any view on the merits of the matter.

3. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the 3rd and 4th respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 17.11.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

No costs.

Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
