PRAYER: This Civil Revision Petition is filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India, to expedite the hearing and to dispose of the RCOP.No.1325 of 2017 on the file of XVI Small Causes Court, Chennai, within a time limit as stipulated by this court. O R D E R

This Civil Revision Petition is filed seeking a direction to the XVI Small Causes Court, Chennai, to expedite the hearing and dispose of the Rent Control Eviction petition filed by the petitioner/landlord in RCOP.No.1325 of 2017.

2. According to the petitioner, he filed an eviction petition against the respondent from the demised premises on the ground of wilful default, demolition and reconstruction and own occupation in the year 2017.

3. A perusal of the E-court entry furnished in the typed set of papers would suggest that the eviction petition has been adjourned from time to time from August 2018 without any progress. Even as early as 10.12.2018, the said OP was posted for recording evidence. In view of the fact that there is no substantial progress in enquiry from December 2018, this court is inclined to issue a direction to dispose of RCOP.No.1325 of 2017, on the file of XVI Small Causes Court, Chennai, within a period of six months, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this Civil Revision Petition is disposed of. No costs.
