Respondent PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to pass an order of direction directing to the respondent police to grant permission and given necessary police protection to perform the Special Convention i.e., Meeting, using P.A. Systems and lighting at Rani Mahal, No.9 Dancy Road, Cavery Nagar, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam District which is held to be on 03.10.2019 to 06.10.2019, in pursuant to the petitioner's representation dated 19.09.2019. O R D E R

The limited prayer sought for in the present petition is for grant of permission and protection for performing Special Convention through a meeting using public addressing system and lighting in a closed premises at Rani Mahal, No.9 Dancy Road, Cavery Nagar, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam District. 2.The said meeting is proposed to be held on 03.10.2019 to 06.10.2019. When the petitioner has proposed to perform the convention within a closed premises in a private property, the respondent herein cannot raise any objections so long as such a convention does not affect the general public. Nevertheless, if the respondent is of the view that convention might cause any disturbances to the neighbors, it is open to them to impose such reasonable restrictions and thereby permit the petitioner to https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

have the convention conducted.

3.In the light of the above observations, the petitioner herein is granted liberty to approach the respondent herein on or before 02.10.2019 and on receipt of such representation, the respondent herein shall grant necessary permission to the petitioner to perform the special convention, by imposing such reasonable restrictions. Such an order shall be passed on the same day when the representation is given.

4.With the above observations, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
