When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent would submit that it is the 2nd petition for bail and the contraband involved in this case is a commercial quantity. He would further submit that in this case, investigation has been completed and taken for trial in C.C.No.333 of 2022 on the file of the I Additional Special Judge for NDPS Act Cases, Chennai and vehemently opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

2. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the case stands posted on 23.11.2022 for the appearance of the accused. He would submit that the fact remains that there are several cases pending against the petitioner for the offences under Sections of Indian Penal Code and the petitioner has been categorized as "C" category history sheeter and this case has been foisted against him, in order to curtail the activities of the petitioner. Hence, he prays for grant of bail to the petitioner.

3. In reply, the learned Government Advocate (crl.side) would submit that the petitioner has also got previous cases of similar in nature.

4. At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that he is not pressing the petition for bail of the petitioner. He would further submit that a direction may be issued to the trial Judge to complete the trial within a specific period.

5. Taking into consideration the submissions made, a direction is issued to the learned I Additional Special Judge for NDPS Act Cases, Chennai to complete the trial in C.C.No.333 of 2022 within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of copy of this Order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
