This Court, vide order dated 10.11.2022 allowed this writ petition by quashing the award dated 26.11.2015 passed in I.D.No.96 of 2013 and remanded the matter back to the Labour Court, Salem for fresh adjudication and directed the Labour Court, Salem to dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
2. However, as the present Presiding Officer of the Labour Court had taken charge of the post of the Presiding Officer to Labour Court, Salem as full additional charge on 22.08.2023 and he availed earned leave from 26.08.2023 to 07.09.2023, the case in I.D.No.96 of 2013 has been placed before the present Presiding Officer only on 11.09.2023. However, the time granted by this Court is going to expire on 19.09.2023. Therefore, the present Presiding Officer, Labour Court, Salem has sent a letter dated 12.09.2023 to the Registrar General seeking further six months time to dispose of the case. Accordingly, the matter is listed today for extension of time.
