PRAYER:-Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of india, praying for an issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 08.01.2025 and issue Patta in favour of the petitioner for the property comprised in Survey No.70/1 situated at Palliagaram Village, Madhuranthgam Taluk, Chengalpattu District for an extent of 65 cents. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated 08.01.2025 and issue Patta in favour of the petitioner for the property comprised in Survey No.70/1 situated at Palliagaram Village, Madhuranthgam Taluk, Chengalpattu District for an extent of 65 cents.
2.Mr.P.Ganesan, learned Government Advocate, takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
3.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner made a representation dated 08.01.2025 to the respondents seeking to issue patta in his favour for the land comprised in Survey No.70/1, Palliagaram Village, Madhuranthgam Taluk, Chengalpattu District to an extent of 65 cents. Though the respondents received the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2025, till date they have not considered the same. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
4.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the land for which the petitioner requesting for grant of patta is required for the public purpose.
5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.
6.Considering the submission made by both the parties and in view of the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2025, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, by giving the details as to why and how the land is required for the Government for the public purpose in the said area. 7.With the above said direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
