By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he was enlisted as Grade II Police Constable on 27.02.1986. Thereafter, he was promoted as Grade-I Police Constable in the year 1991, as Head Constable on 25.09.1996 and then promoted as Sub Inspector of Police on 01.03.2011.

3.The grievance of the petitioner is that his juniors were included in the "C" list of Head Constables fit for promotion to the post of Sub Inspectors for the year 1999-2000 with all consequential benefits. Since, the benefit was not extended to the petitioner, he made a representations dated 15.07.2014 and 02.03.2015 to the second respondent and representation to the first respondent on 15.10.2015. Since they have not passed any orders, the petitioner filed the present writ petition. 4.Heard the submissions of Mr.A.Kalaiselvan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and M/s.N.Srinivasan, Additional Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the respondents.

5.This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and considering the facts and circumstances of the case and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner, hereby directs the second respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representations dated 15.07.2014 and 02.03.2015 in accordance with law, after putting on notice to the persons concerned and pass appropriate orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.
