ORDER

The petitioner who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6(4) of TNSC (RDCS) order 1982 r/w Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of EC Act, 1955, in Crime No. 197 of 2024, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is found in possession of 11 tons of ration rice. Hence the complaint. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is no way connected with the alleged offence. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) for the respondent Police would submit that the petitioner has four previous cases, which are of a similar nature. The petitioner is found in possession of 11 tons of ration rice and he is a history sheeted. He would further submit that A1 already arrested. However, he vehemently opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Government Advocate and perused the entire materials available on record including the First Information Report.

6.Considering the facts that as against the petitioner, there are four previous cases pending which are of a similar nature and the petitioner is 2\4

found in possession of 11 tons of ration rice, and also considering the gravity of the offences, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail tot the petitioner.
