Prayer in all Writ petitions:- Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to include the petitioner's name in the selection list for the year 1992-93 along with his batch-mates recruited in the year 1992-93 with due seniority and award all consequential service benefits on the basis of the earlier orders of the Madras High Court in W.P.Nos.41271, 41272 and 41273/2006, dated 25.02.2011 and the implementation order by the department in D.O.No.208/2016, in C.No.A3/9533/2015, dated 07.03.2016.

For Petitioners : Mr.A.Rajaram For Respondents : Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER Eighteen Police Constables have come to this Court by filing individual writ petitions seeking a common prayer for Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent/Director General of Police to include their name in the selection list for the year 1992-93 along with their batch-mates recruited in the year 1992-93 with due seniority and award all consequential service benefits on the basis of the earlier orders of the Madras High Court in W.P.Nos.41271, 41272 and 41273 of 2006, dated 25.02.2011 and the implementation order by the Department in D.O.No.208/2016, in C.No.A3/9533/2015, dated 07.03.2016.
2. Mr.A.Rajaram, learned counsel appearing for the petitioners in all the writ petitions submitted that the petitioners were all selected during the year 1992-93 along with 10,000 (Grade-2) Police Constables. However, due to various litigations pending on the file of this Court, they were able to get enlisted only on 15.05.2000. But in the meanwhile, some of the batch-mates were also enlisted and they were given seniority without considering the extension of the said benefit of seniority to the petitioners. For which, the petitioners have given detailed representations on various dates through proper channel to consider their enlistment notionally from the year 1995 and also to give them consequential up gradation as Grade-1 Head Constable as per the order passed by this Court in W.P.Nos.41271 to 41273 of 2006, dated 25.02.2011 and the said representations have not been considered. Therefore, the petitioners were advised to come before this Court for a direction to the concerned authorities to consider their representations.
3. Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents, sought for sufficient time to consider the petitioners' pending representations.
4. Considering the limited prayer made by the petitioners, without going into the merits of the matter, the respondents are hereby directed to consider the representations of the petitioners and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, all the above Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
