The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner on 02.09.2022 for restoration of water supply connection and sewerage connection to the petitioner temple situated at No851, Sembudoss Street, Chennai 600 001.
2.It is the case of the petitioner that, water and drainage connections are not provided to the petitioner's temple despite several representations, the same has not been considered by the respondents till date. Hence, the petition.

3.Mrs.K.Vasanthamala, the learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondents and submitted that there are two connections in the said temple property. In respect of the present connection, there are outstanding dues that has to be paid by the petitioner. If the petitioner pays the entire outstanding amount and makes a fresh application for connection, it would be restored. It is her further contention that, as on 07.04.2021, a sum of Rs.1,25,528/- is due and payable to them towards tax. If the same is paid, as a fresh application, they will restore the connection.
4.At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner temple will make a fresh application and also clear the dues.
5.Such view of the matter, on payment of arrears payable to the respondents, the respondents are directed to provide water and sewerage connection to the petitioner temple within a period of one (1) Page No.3 of 4

kas week of the said payment. The respondents are also directed to furnish the details of the arrears payable by the petitioner to the Water and Sewerage Board.
6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
