O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents to consider his representation dated 30.06.2023 seeking issuance of patta in respect of the land situated in S.No.94 at Samuti Kuppam, Omangalam Post, Virudhachalam Taluk, Cuddalore District.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he has been in possession and enjoyment of the said land for the past 40 years. The representation has been submitted seeking patta based on his long possession. It is seen from the records that the above said survey number is classified as pathway in the Village.

3. In such circumstances, this Court is not inclined to issue direction to the respondents to consider the representation and accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioner to seek assignment of any other land at the disposal of the Government, subject to the petitioner satisfying the eligibility criteria. Any such request of petitioner shall be considered on it's own merits, without influenced by anything said in this order. No costs.
