This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking direction, to direct the respondent police 1 to 3, to provide police protection to the petitioner's ground floor portion property bearing Door No.10, Jawaharlal Nehru Salai (Anjugam Nagar Main Road), Jafferkhanpet, Ashok Nagar, Chennai - 86, measuring an extent of 750 sq.ft.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent police 1 to 3.

3. Before entering into the merits and demerits of this petition filed by the petitioner, it is necessary to check the maintainability of the prayer sought by the petitioner.

4. In fact, the petitioner has filed this petition for providing police security to the property alleging that the same has been inherited from the predecessors. In otherwise, the petitioner did not ask any police protection to his life and limb.

5. Inspite of repeated instructions given to the petitioner for impleading his rival party and also for amending the prayer, he is not interested to comply with the same. Therefore, since the prayer sought in the petition is only in respect to the property, the Criminal Original Petition filed by the petitioner is not maintainable and the said petition is dismissed as non maintainable.
