ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The relief sought in this writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioners' Representation dated 14.07.2025 by surveying petitioners' property viz., Plot Nos.22A and 23A comprised in Survey No.317/1, Old Survey No.137 (Patta Survey No.317/24) situated at Velachery Village, Saidpet Taluk, Chengalpattu-MGR District, in accordance with law in a stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that if the petitioners submit an Online Application for conducting survey of the subject property and also, if they pay the 2/5
necessary fees for carrying out the said exercise, the concerned respondent would consider the petitioners' Online Application in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
4. Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioners, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the following directions: (i) The petitioners are directed to submit an Online Application for conducting survey in the subject property and the necessary fees for carrying out the said exercise.
(ii) On submission of such Online Application by the petitioners, the concerned respondent shall consider the same in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioners, adjacent land owners and all other interested parties including rival claimants, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of submission of petitioners' Online Application. (iii) Though facts have been set out extensively in the affidavit, this Court does not propose to deal with it while leaving it open to the respondents to call for any document/conduct enquiry to satisfy itself of the petitioners' entitlement for requesting survey of subject property. 3/5
(iv) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. Rights and contentions of the petitioners and all other interested parties are left open. No costs.
