O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned communication of the 1st respondent dated 10.7.2025 and for a consequential direction to the 1st respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner seeking for renewal of the passport.

2.The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent submitted that an FIR has been registered in Crime No.63 of 2024 and the same is pending investigation.

3.In the considered view of this Court, the mere pendency of investigation based on the FIR registered by the 2nd respondent is not a ground to stop the renewal of the passport of the petitioner by the 1st respondent. It cannot be considered to be a "case pending" against the petitioner.

4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to act upon the application submitted by the petitioner and renew the passport for the regular period if the petitioner has satisfied all the other requirements. This process shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order. 2/4
