ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. In view of the order that this Court proposes to pass and also the limited relief that is sought to be granted, notice to fourth respondent is dispensed with.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's online Application No.2025/0103/18/364758 dated 20.07.2025, seeking cancellation of the patta entries wrongly standing in the name of one Velusamy, S/o Marudhamuthu, comprised in Survey No.46/10A bearing Patta No.535, Survey No.46/10B bearing Patta No.1192 and Survey No.46/6 bearing Patta No.1192, situated at Orangur Post, Veppur Taluk, Cuddalore District within a stipuated period.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner is the absolute owner of the subject property comprised in Survey Nos.46/10 and 46/6, situated at Vallimaduram Village, Thittakudi Taluk, Cuddalore District. He would further submit that, patta in respect of the lands comprised in Survey No.46/10A bearing Patta No.535, Survey No.46/10B bearing Patta No.1192 and Survey No.46/6 bearing Patta No.1192, have been erroneously and unlawfully entered in the name of one Velusamy, S/o Marudhamuthu. Therefore, petitioner submitted an online application on 20.07.2025 before the 3rd respondent seeking cancellation of the patta entries wrongly standing in the name of one Velusamy. However, the said representation / application was not considered so far by the 3rd respondent. Aggrieved by the same, petitioner has come before this Court.

At the outset, it is submitted by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3 that the application dated 20.07.2025 made by petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a time frame fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
5. In view of the limited relief that is prayed, this court is inclined to 3/6
dispose of the writ petition with following directions; i) The respondents 1 to 3 shall consider petitioner's application dated 20.07.2025, after issuing notice and affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, 4th respondent and all other interested parties including rival claimants, if any.
ii) Though facts have been set out in affidavit, in view of the limited relief that is sought to be granted, I do not propose to examine the same, lest it may influence the authority. The authority shall independently consider the facts and law set out in the application and pass appropriate order in accordance with law including but not limited to the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act and Rules.
iii) The petitioner's application dated 20.07.2025 shall be disposed of within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of uploading of web copy without waiting for the receipt of certified copy.
iv) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any 4/6
views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. Rights and contentions of the petitioner and all other interested parties are left open.
