Heard Mr.KGovindaraj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Diwakar, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and with the consent of the parties, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
2.Though the petitioner seeks for a positive direction to direct the respondent to release the lorry, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 12.11.2016.

3. The said representation is for release of the Lorry bearing Registration No.TN 21 AX 0896, which was seized by the second respondent on 11.11.2016. According to the petitioner, he is the owner of the said vehicle, which was seized by the second respondent on 11.11.2016 and handed over to the first respondent, on the ground that the same was used for the purpose of transporting sand illegally. Since no orders have been passed on the petitioner's representation dated 12.11.2016, the petitioner is before this Court with this writ petition.

In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the petitioner to submit a copy of the representation dated 12.11.2016, seeking release of the vehicle in question along with a copy of this order to the respondents, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of such representation, the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks thereafter. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
