O R D E R

This Contempt Petition has been filed to punish the respondent for non compliance of the order dated 22.07.2022 passed by this Court in Crl.O.P.No.25041 of 2021, thereby directing the learned Judicial Magistrate

No.1, Tiruvallur, to dispose the case in C.C.No.118 of 2018 within a period of six months, if not already disposed of.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent submitted that the trial has been commenced in C.C.No.118 of 2018 before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Tiruvallur, and so far, three prosecution witnesses were examined as P.W.1 to P.W.3 out of 20 witnesses. Now the matter has been posed for further examination of the witnesses. 3.

It is seen that, this Court by an order dated 22.07.2022 , directed the judicial officer to complete the trial within a stipulation period. Therefore, the respondent is nothing to do with the direction issued by this Court. That apart, no contempt can be proceeded as against the judicial officer as against the Court. Hence, the contempt petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed.
