Common Prayer: Writ Appeals filed under Clause 15 of the Letters Patent, seeking to allow the Writ Appeals and set aside the common order dated 07.11.2024 in WP.Nos.786 & 788 of 2011, respectively. The common order of the learned Single Judge dated 07.11.2024 passed in W.P.Nos.786 & 788 of 2011, rejecting the Award of the Central Government Industrial Tribunal (CGIT) passed in I.D.Nos.22 to 25 of 2007 dated 27.07.2010, is under challenge before us in the present Writ Appeals.

2. When the appellant herein/State Bank of India had filed an appeal in Civil Appeal Nos.6015 to 6018 of 2010 before the Hon'ble Supreme Court, claiming the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Industrial

Establishment (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981, the Hon'ble Supreme Court through its order dated 31.07.2025, had left this question of law open since the dispute in the appeals was otherwise settled and not considered on merits of the controversy. While passing the final order, the Hon'ble Supreme Court had observed that the concerned employees had agreed to receive lumpsum compensation of Rs.7,50,000/- each and thereby directed the appellant herein to transfer the amount in the bank accounts of the aforesaid respondents, within four weeks. The second respondents herein in both the appeals, were party to the appeals in Civil Appeal Nos.6015 & 6017 of 2010 respectively, before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.

3. At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the appellant/Bank would submit that the aforesaid amount of Rs.7,50,000/- has already been paid to the second respondents herein.

4. In view of the subsequent developments of the dispute having been amicably settled before the Hon'ble Supreme Court, the order of the Writ Court in WP.Nos.788 & 786 of 2011 respectively dated 07.11.2024, as well as the Award of the Central Government Industrial Tribunal
