The petitioner has come up with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to consider his representation dated 24.10.2016.

According to the petitioner, he is a Hindu by birth and later got himself converted to Christianity and is practising and professing Christianity. He had taken a building for lease at Door No.77, Ward No.31, Ettins Road, Murugan Lodge Complex from one Jeganathan, for a period of five years for the purpose of conducting prayers and Bible Classes. 3.
On 11.01.2016, the petitioner had been called for enquiry by the Inspector of Police, B-1 Police Station, Ootacamund, where he was instructed that he should not conduct Bible classes and prayers without getting permission from the 1st respondent and to that effect, they have also obtained a written undertaking from the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner sent a representation to the 1st respondent on 24.10.2016 seeking permission for conducting prayers and Bible classes in the said building. petitioner is before this Court.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's grievance would be redressed, if his representation dated 24.10.2016 is directed to be considered by the 1st respondent within a stipulated period.

In view of the above, without going into the merits of the case, the 1st respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.10.2016 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
