Respondents Prayer: Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a (i) writ of Declaration declaring that the admission of students in the seventh respondent College under the Founder's quota is illegal, void and contrary to the provisions of Tamilnadu Admission in Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2006 (Act 3 of 2007); and (ii) writ of Declaration declaring that the arrangement between the Government and the founder members of the sixth respondent Trust in allotting seats in Dr.Alagappa Chettiyar College of Engineering
& Technology, Karaikkudi calling it as a "Founder's quota" is unconstitutional and void and contrary to the provisions of Tamilnadu Admission in Professional Educational Institutions Act, 2006 (Act 3 of 2007) and consequently forbearing the respondents 1 to 5 from admitting any students under founder's quota in Dr.Alagappa Chettiyar College of Engineering & Technology, Karaikkudi (both Chennai and Karaikkudi campus) as nominated by the respondents 6 to 9.
