This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to file final report in Crime No. 892/2014 on the file of the respondent police within the stipulated time frame.
2. The petitioner herein lodged a complaint stating that he is running a jewellery business in the name and style of Bhomia Jewellery in Teynampet, Chennai. In the course of his business on 01.09.20154, the petitioner had sent his staff to distribute 6 kilograms of gold jewels to the petitioner's customers at Arcot, Vellore and Kancheepuram. They went in the petitioner's car, Skoda rapid bearing Registration No.TN-07-BQ-9208, and after distributing around 1,626.25 grams of gold and collected an amount of Rs.38,11,77,645/-, they started returning to Chennai. When they were having tea at a highway tea stall near Karaipettai at about 8.30 p.m, some unknown persons came in a Swift Desire Car and broke the petitioner's car glass and robbed the cash and jewels kept in the car. They also attacked the petitioner's staff. Hence, a complaint was lodged. Though the FIR was registered in Crime No.892/2014, no progress was made to file the charge sheet. 3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the respondent is directed to investigate the case in Crime No.892 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
