Respondents Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 19.07.2016 seeking admission to Ph.D programme 2016-17 [Part Time External] in Pondicherry University without any further delay.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.Stalin Abhimanyu, learned Standing Counsel who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and with the consent on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal. The grievance of the petitioner is that though she is fully qualified to get admission for the Ph.D. Course [Part time[external]], conducted by the Pondicherry University, and though she was exempted from writing the written https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

examination on account of her possession of requisite qualification and experience and despite her effective presentation with regard to her Research Proposal before the Committee, she was not given admission and the representation sent by her in this regard, to the respondents on 19.07.2016 though received by the 2nd respondent and acknowledged, it has not been considered till date. Therefore, she came forward to file the present writ petition.

Though the petitioner has prayed for a larger relief, this Court, in the light of the above facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioner either in this writ petition or in her representation, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 19.07.2016 seeking admission to Ph.D. Programme [Part Time External] on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
