Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, Directing the Respondents to pass orders for publishing the results for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) notified under UR category as per Advertisement in File No A1 / 009/ 2015/ GA dated 22.11.2015 in accordance with written test conducted in the year 2016 and to consider the petitioner for direct recruitment to the post of assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) based on merit in selection, in consideration of representation submitted by the 1/5

petitioner dated 28.04.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

O R D E R

The writ petition has been filed for the following reliefs:- " Directing the Respondents to pass orders for publishing the results for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) notified under UR category as per Advertisement in File No A1 / 009/ 2015/ GA dated 22.11.2015 in accordance with written test conducted in the year 2016 and to consider the petitioner for direct recruitment to the post of assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) based on merit in selection, in consideration of representation submitted by the petitioner dated 28.04.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Hon'ble Court ."

2. The case of the petitioner is that he was initially appointed as an Assistant Technician in the Chennai Port Trust in the year 1997, and was subsequently promoted to the post of Technician Grade III in 2010, Technician Grade II in 2018, and Technician Grade I in the year 2024.. 2/5

The Petitioner would submit that he had done his Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in April 1997, B.Tech., (EEE) in 2007, P.G Diploma in Material Management in 2016 and M.E (Power Electronics and Industrial Drives) in 2017.

Pursuant to the advertisement issued by the Chennai Port Trust dated 22.11.2015, the Petitioner had submitted his application for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) and appeared for the written examination which was held on 21.02.2016. Since the result of the said examination has not been published after a lapse of almost 9 years, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 28.04.2025 to publish the result. However, the same has not been considered to date. Hence the Writ Petition.

4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.

Considering the limited request of the petitioner and also taking note of the fact that the representation of the petitioner dated 28.04.2025 has not been considered by the respondent to date, the Writ Petition is allowed. A direction is issued to the respondents to consider and pass order on the representation of the petitioner dated 28.04.2025 in accordance with 3/5

law within a period of 3 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
