ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to permit the petitioner to hold public meeting on 26.11.2016 to be addressed by Mr.Seeman, the State Coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi at No.33, Erukancheri High Road, Salaimanagar, Vyasarpadi, Chennai-600 039.

2. It is seen that the petitioner has given a representation dated 11.11.2016, which has been received in the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, M.K.B.Nagar Police Station, M.K.B.Nagar, Vysarpadi, Chennai - 600 039, seeking permission for conducting a meeting in the premises of one RP.Dharmalingam.

3. In connection with the petitioner's representation, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, by proceedings dated 20.11.2016, has called the petitioner to appear for enquiry on 22.11.2016. In the meantime, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition on 21.11.2016.

4. Mr.S.Xavier Felix, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that on 22.11.2016, the petitioner appeared before the Assistant Commissioner of Police and submitted his explanation.

5. Under such circumstances, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that he has no instructions as to whether the petitioner appeared before the Assistant Commissioner of Police on 22.11.2016.

6. Be that as it may, the first respondent police is directed to consider the petitioner's representation date 11.11.2016 and pass orders thereon in accordance with law within one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is closed. No costs.
