This writ petition was filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to grant reimbursement of Rs.2,44,809/- for the expenses incurred by the petitioner for the surgery undergone by his mother. 2.When the above writ petition came up for admission on 24.09.2024, this Court found that the petitioner had earlier approached this Court and filed WP.No.8444 of 2021, challenging the order passed by the Additional Commissioner of Police [Traffic] dated 18.11.2020 and for a direction to reimburse a sum of Rs.1,79,342/- incurred towards medical expenses of the petitioner's mother. This writ petition was allowed by an order dated 11.06.2024 and a direction was given to the respondents to reimburse the sum of Rs.1,79,342/- with interest at the rate of 6% per annum.
In the light of this order, this Court directed the learned Additional Government Pleader to take instructions and to report compliance of the order. 3.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that pending this writ petition, the application made by the petitioner for reimbursement of a sum of Rs.
respondent through proceedings dated 01.10.2024 and the same was served on the petitioner during the first week of October.
4.In the light of the above development, the petitioner has to necessarily challenge the proceedings of the Commissioner, Tambaram Commissionerate dated 01.10.2024. Such liberty is also granted to the petitioner. Accordingly, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. However, the respondents will have to report compliance of the earlier order passed by this Court in WP.No.84444 of 2021, dated 11.06.2024. Hence, post this writ petition under the caption for 'reporting compliance' on 29.10.2024 at 2.15 p.m.
